Frequently asked questions

Can I open a PDF without knowing its password?

No. This tool does not guess or crack passwords; it only removes the lock from a PDF whose password you know.

Which password is needed?

A PDF can have two passwords: one for opening and one for the owner. Lifting print and copy restrictions needs the owner password, the one that controls permissions. If both are the same, one password is enough.

What if the PDF is not locked?

You are told that the PDF is not locked, so there is nothing to remove.
