Frequently asked questions

Are tables without lines read too?

Yes, from the gaps between columns. Ruled tables are the most accurate; tables without lines and with tightly packed columns sometimes merge, so check the result.

Are merged cells kept?

Not yet. The content of a merged cell is written into its first cell, and multi-level column headings can be split across several rows.

Can it read scanned PDFs?

No. This tool reads the text stored in the PDF; pages that are scanned images do not produce tables.
