Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Word to PDF?

Both use the same engine. This page takes the open formats written by LibreOffice and OpenOffice, which are that engine's native formats, so the result is the most faithful.

Are Basic macros run?

No. Macros are switched off for every file, so a document from an unknown source cannot run anything on the server.

Which fonts are used?

Fonts embedded in the file come first. Other fonts are replaced with free fonts available on the server, so documents set in LibreOffice's default fonts look exactly the same.
