Print-ready PDF: add bleed, trim box, and crop marks
Prepare a PDF for a print shop: add bleed, a trim box, and crop marks, then switch the color space to CMYK or grayscale if asked.
Accepted formats: PDF. Up to 2000 pages per document. Up to 500 MB in total per upload.
CMYK and grayscale conversion turns pages into images at the chosen resolution. The result is not claimed to be PDF/X.

Frequently asked questions
What is bleed?
Bleed is the part of images and background colors that extends past the cut line. When the paper is trimmed, a slight shift leaves no white edge. Mirroring continues the page edges reversed; stretching pulls them outward.
Is the result PDF/X?
No. The file is prepared for print but is not claimed to meet the PDF/X standard. Ask your print shop whether they require PDF/X.
Why can't the text be selected after converting to CMYK?
Converting to CMYK or grayscale turns every page into an image at the resolution you choose. For documents with small text, pick 300 or 600 PPI.
